Valentine's day

We all would like to recall our first love. But not share it. It gave so much of meaning to our lives then. Wrote poems, letters, gifted what we could afford the best in the given circumstances, gave flowers and dreamt of what our future holds.
All didn't end the way we presumed, but the memories linger. It's mesmerizing. There is nothing to show for but feelings are nothing to expose but felt. Those like me have come a long way. Reality hits you so hard that you fail to recall. "Huh" is an expression that is not so uncommon.
Not that we didn't fall in love again and again, and end up with the one we loved and still love so much, but then when things don't seem to work the way you wanted, you want to recall those memories, even with your current love, all those happy memories when we longed to wait for those happy moments, the exchange of words and pleasantries, and believed in our own self, to make it last forever.
Valentine's day is not only for the ones who are young and blooming, it is a gifted day for those who had many such days in their life time, to uphold and reaffirm their valued pledge, "till death do us apart". It is a time for forgiveness and also to renew the love, that once filled their time together, until circumstances robbed away the meaning of what it really meant, that it became so ordinary and moved on, believing that is just another day.
We can make this day for what it is worth. We celebrate together to keep it going, whatever the individual circumstances might be at the given moment. We can hold it tight and give it a meaning or let loose of the time tested tradition. But then rejoicing is a lot better than avoiding. It is a choice, we know we can make it to be a wonderful memory or a day just filled with chores and worry about the struggles to make a meaning of what it is to come. You decide. Happy Valentine's Day To Every One.

PS- Wrote it earlier to let everyone spend their time together on this memorable day.
