There is something in each of us. It just takes someone to remind

I am comfortable, living in a three bedroom flat/apartment, all by myself, in an area which is only one of the few areas not affected by floods and power cut, having anything I want, with a chauffeur (Driver) to drive me around if need be, and watching the people in my city suffer on a flat screen. These are the people who have lost everything, including their basic necessities or comfort, their possessions, their savings, and even their hard earned educational certificates which is difficult to fathom. Stranded without even a rest/wash room, clinging to their lives, some with their kids averaging from a new born to a toddler to a kid that is not able to understand the wrath of nature’s fury, it is hard to walk away and not do something to make a difference.
I watched all day, volunteers helping out in many places, pushing the stranded cars, providing food packets, following social media and rushing to places where help is most needed, which included visually impaired boarding school and old age home, with one group forming human chains as the water kept gushing from the over flown river or canals, and another group rushing to save the bikes and cars that did not see the impending doom, carrying the old and the weak, and stepping out of their comfort zone, to make their lives worthy of a human being.
The rain poured, with the evidence stacked against their efforts by the forecast, they never looked back but kept grinding, wet and tired but smiling, for each hand they lent to uplift, it saved a life and gave a promise to this world, that whatever the shortcomings in their lives, they were rich in their belief and proud to make a difference in people’s lives. They knew they had it in their soul that left people in awe and kindled their faith and showed the way to make a difference in people’s lives.
I just happened to realize.
