What we heard, read and saw on TV, about an horrifying incident in Peshawar, Pakistan is something no human being gifted with emotions will turn a blind eye but instead shed tears from the very eyes that witnessed, read or saw. The incident brings so close to home for anyone with children and especially so for mothers and fathers who have children similar to the dead children's age.
The Pakistan Military had a relationship with the very Taliban which carried out a vicious act that took away the meaning of the parents existence when they lost their children. The intelligence community and the military of Pakistan used the Taliban as a proxy to fight with its neighbors or to create unrest. They wouldn't take action when the US Government made repeated requests to curtail if not eradicate the Taliban. It fell on deaf ears.
I have friends who are Pakistanis. They are wonderful people and I love them to death. Today the entire Nation of Pakistan has come to a grounding halt. Their eyes are fixated on the TV screens, their life has changed unable to believe that the very institution which they hoped and prayed to be strong and decisive, is as vulnerable like them. The myth has been exposed. The pain is the same and this time they are made to feel.
It is not just the institutions in Pakistan that behaved without realizing the consequences- we in USA are no better and are as vulnerable like them. Let the elected Representatives realize and work in the interest of."We the people". Memories are etched in our minds about the grief we were made to experience. It is one too many. God Bless the departed souls and pray that the parents who lost their pride of their lives be given the strength to move forward.
