My Valentine Poem

Just 45 minutes more to let this Valentine day become yesterday. I gave a card with Hallmark words, flowers, chocolates and a valentine float- all appeared to fulfill anyone's expectations but something this VD made me not so comfortable. I have known my wife for 34 years and has been married for 28 years and for all the blessings in my life, she is the one behind who made it possible. Yes- I have a reason to feel not so comfortable. I decided to make a poem, I wrote for her last birthday which I gave in private, become public to honor my Valentine and to only remind her once again of how proud I am. Love you Kash for sharing your life with me.- ~Kripa

Dearest Kash, In you, I find the woman I love; its time I said it aloud! You are the rock of the family, we will claim and be proud. You held me steady and steered me clear of battles I faced because of your grace. You made me smile even in adversity and gave me the strength with your integrity to accept life when wants filled my mind; to count my blessings and not be blind. I found your hand in the darkness of the night; comforting and soothing that all will be right. The pain will be gone when the morning dawns; helped peace descend even before I yawned. The strength of our family and the captain of our ship you let us enjoy even when the radar showed blips As the storms and lightning dared to hit your hands never left the wheels; not to disturb the fragile life a bit. Our children grew with love and care; You made them strong even in despair; Taught them values that reflected your own. They made us proud when they were grown. Shielding from the glamour and the glare from the lights; you taught us to be humble even when we reached the heights. Reached out to the needy, young and the old helped cross the hurdles with the principles you hold Stood in the backdrop with a smile on your face when the moment came for them to establish their base. You had faults. You showed us your weakness. Developed our patience to see through the greatness; That being human and filled with emotion has nothing to do with one’s devotion It is one of a kind in the space of our mind, to remember the good and let go the hurt bringing us memories that teach us to be kind. It is difficult to imitate what you have shown us, but our lives are meaningful because of what you taught us. Love
