My Daughter To Me

I wrote an open letter to my daughter hoping to reflect many of the fathers who felt and wished the same for their daughters who couldn't express themselves but called, texted, emailed and expressed themselves in their comments. I got a card from my daughter after her marriage dated 06/15/13 which I cherish and after a long pause, I decided to put it in print as I felt that many daughters would want their fathers to know how they feel. I ask for forgiveness from my daughter as I decided to let the world know of her inner feelings reflecting many in her position.

Dear Daddy: I had a beautiful card to give you but, of course I seem to have misplaced it:). All the same, I wish you an early Happy Father's Day. Throughout my life, you have been a constant source of love and support that will be irreplaceable. You are and always be the only father I have ever wanted and am so thankful for all the dreams you have brought to life for me. Your job as my father is far from over but for now you will appreciate the clarity I have gained when I say that ,"You have done a fantastic job with me". I wish you joy and happiness in the years to come. I hope that my time away will also give you more time to be "Kripa" as you may have less time being a daddy. Worry less, love more, laugh often, dance... Do it all for yourself, daddy.....No one else can do it for you. I love you more than you know. ~Kranti K
