Let Prudence dictate

My friend cites an article by Marshall in Politico and questions whether President will listen to sane advice and ask for his vote.

The author fails to understand the basic concepts of winning an election. First, the leader of the party needs his base to come out in full force, 47 to 48% of the population and unless they believe that the President is representing them might stay back and take a pass and the independents or swing voters will never compensate the enthusiasm of his party that will help propel the President to the finish line. When Mr. Romney, not through his surrogates have been single handedly lying through his teeth, the author like Paddy wants him to stay above the fray and not call him out as it amounts to belittling him! Other than bringing in regulations in the financial sectors which was the main culprit in bringing this economy to its knees and a collapse of unimagined proportions through Dodd- Frank bill, the author has not clearly understood or ignored what the President has done in other suggestions he has made regarding spurring the growth of the economy. Underwater home mortgage is a mess created from Presidents Clinton to Bush who encouraged banks to give loans with literally no down payment thereby encouraging no personal responsibility which Paddy keeps harping about. President has done more than enough to keep the home owners in their homes who have shown some responsibility. Reducing the corporate taxes for those businesses who will bring jobs from overseas is a stand President has been harping about in every speech and unless you are stone deaf, it is the ignorance of the author not to take notice of what has been a statement engraved on stone. Gas, oil, and all forms of renewable energy has been in his platform which he has been advocating and just saying things that might fill up his article is like a blind man in a dark room searching for a black cat which is not there. Where was this author when the President put a four trillion dollar deficit reduction plan and negotiated with the Republicans in good faith only to find the Republican Speaker and the Leader of their house walk away unable to take the heat from their tea party activist Representatives. Because one has a philosophy that differs from the President doesn't mean the world is blind and deaf. Taxing the rich is not to punish their successes, but to push them to recall the path they walked when they did take help from the middle class and poor who made them who they are today and if one argues that it is their innovation or entrepreneurship that made them rich, the rewards they have received that has given them comforts and luxury is a testimony for their contribution and giving back is a virtue spoken in all religions. Richness is not exclusive to the Republicans, Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have walked the walk and still continue to be the leading billionaires! So to Paddy,- Yes the President cares for your votes but stop shedding crocodile tears and find reasons why you should not vote for him. It is a privilege and a right that you can cast based on your convictions but let prudence dictate the outcome.
